Robert "Fish" Fishman (Rainn Wilson) is a drummer who ambitions to become a rock drummer on board. Together with his band Vesuvius, Fish began to set foot on the music channels again booming in the '80s it. Unfortunately, Fish's dream should vanish when he was kicked out of Vesuvius.
20 years later, when Fish began to forget all dreams, new hope emerged. Gadman Matt (Josh Gad), a cousin of Fish is looking for a drummer for the band he formed ADD.
Although Matt was hesitant to grant this request because he thinks Fish is too old to band ADD is the average of new players was a teenager, Matt finally gives a chance also for the Fish.
